LEOMINSTER -- Michael J. Henderson, 66, of Leominster, and Cocoa, Fla., died Tuesday, May 9, after a five-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born on March 7, 1940, in Syracuse, N.Y. Mr. Henderson spent several years in the U.S. Army before making his way to Massachusetts, where he fell in love with Nancy A. Flood, who stood by him from the time they married in June 1963 until his death on Tuesday. He spent many years working for Colonial Press in Clinton. In the early 1980s, he went to work for Digital Equipment Corporation, retiring from there as a field service engineer in 1991. His love of computers followed him into his retirement, as he spent many warm Florida days searching yard sales for ‘good deals.’ He and and his wife enjoyed traveling south in the winter months, but looked forward to returning to Massachusetts each year as the season turned from winter to spring. He touched the lives of many with his caring and helpful spirit over the years, and will be missed and remembered by many. Mr. Henderson leaves his wife, Nancy A. (Flood) Henderson of Leominster; two daughters, Michelle A. Henderson of Orlando, Fla., and Elissa M. Buja and her husband, Andrew A. Buja, of Leominster; two granddaughters, Stephanie Buja and Caitlyn Buja; two brothers, Andy Henderson and John Wiley both of Syracuse, N.Y.; three sisters, Colleen, Maureen and Jackie, all of Syracuse, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. HENDERSON -- On May 9, Michael J. Henderson, 66, of Leominster. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
