Michael Fleming, age 48, Springfield, passed away in his home on June 28, 2006. He was born Jan. 30, 1958, in Springfield, to Frank and Nona Fleming. Mike attended Walnut Grove High School. He served in the Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. Michael was preceded in death by his father, due to a tractor accident in 1987. Mike is survived by his mother, Nona Fleming, and stepfather, Otto Owens one brother, Kenneth Fleming and his sons, Joey and Josh, and daughter, Ashley, of Springfield two stepsisters, Rebecca Titus, Gramby, Mo., and her two sons, and Heather Staplehurst and her two daughters, of England several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. Mike had surgery to remove a brain tumor in 1986. Although severely handicapped, Mike managed to live a somewhat independent life, with help from family, friend, caring health providers, and some special health care staff. Visitation will b e3t o5 p.m. Tues., July 4, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wed., July 5, in the funeral home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Theodosia Cemetery, Theodosia, Mo., with Rev. Ike Jenkins officiating.
