Funeral service for Mr. Michael Cody Watson, 17, of Weaver, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Weaver, with the Rev. Keith Merritt and Mr. Bray McCormick officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mr. Watson passed away Friday, November 19, 2010. Mr. Watson is survived by his parents, Loki and Debi Watson; sister, Chelsea Watson; brothers, "The Crew"; grandparents, Greg and Barbara Hughston, Michael V. and Patricia J. Watson; great-grandparent, Allie J. Thompson. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nolan D. Hampton. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Mr. Watson was a native and lifelong resident of Weaver. He attended Weaver High School where he was involved in the Youth Leadership of Calhoun County Program, Big Brothers / Big Sisters Program and the SGA Junior Class Vice President. He was an enrichment student, member of the math team and the catcher of the varsity baseball team; also, he loved riding dirt bikes and fishing. He loved doing the "Dougie", a dance he often did with his best friend, Travis. He marched to his own beat and was well liked by anyone who met him, with his big smile and passion to make people laugh. He was inspirational and had a huge heart. He is "The Cody Watson".
