ObituaryOur loving son smiled into the hands of the Lord on July 3, 2005. Michael graduated cum laude from Ft. Myers High School and was a freshman at the University of South Florida. He had a job with Spectrum Painting waiting for the fall term to begin.While his time on this earth was ever so brief, he touched many lives beyond his immediate family. Michael possessed that special gift that many have termed charisma, along with the ability to draw those around him toward his infectious humor. It was his fast wit, and to adapt to an ever changing world that propelled him to excel in school and his personal life.While the time he was allotted, dealt no justice to his potential, Michael did however, show all of us how to live life to the fullest. He visited Maine and was able to observe whales, surfed the California sea, enjoyed his trip to New York City, and experienced many events here in Florida. The example of his life shall remain with his family and friends in that his love is eternal, and we shall never forget the cherished moments he bestowed upon all of us.Our family wishes to acknowledge all the thoughts and prayers that have been forthcoming since the passing of Michael. It has been a great comfort to know Michael touched so many lives in his brief time with all of us.Michael is survived by his parents Mary McCormack and Ricardo McCormack, his stepmother Joy McCormack, his maternal grandmother Marian Sutton, his paternal grandparents Ricardo and Emma McCormack, his older sister Nicole McCormack, his older brother Vincent McCormack, his stepbrothers, Matthew Coffee and his stepsister Kate Coffee. Michael also had a large extended family that all love and will miss him dearly.Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Ft. Myers. Final rest will follow in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends Today, Wednesday, July 6 from the hours of 6-9 PM at the Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Chapel, 1600 Colonial Blvd. The Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Home & Crematory of Ft. Myers has been entrusted with Michael's arrangements. 936-2177.
