ANDERSON, MAVIS SUSAN (HENDERSON) - of Debec, widow of George R. Anderson, born September 27, 1919, died at home of cancer on September 7, 2006. Mavis is survived by her daughters and sons who are: Charlene (Allen) Bustard, Debec, Marcia kilcollins, Blaine, Maine, Lynwood (Marie) Anderson, Fort Frances, ON, Anne Anderson, Nackawic, Merlyn (Joan) Anderson, Debec, Eugene (Judith) Anderson, Upper Woodstock, Conrad (Sharon) Anderson, Woodstock, Emily (Karl) Lindsay, London, ON, Celia (Bob) Boose, Ancaster, ON, Susan (Peter) Bulger, Foxley River, PEI, Geordie (Tammy) Anderson, Debec, 29 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also survived by one sister Lois Logan of Fredericton and one brother Thane (Marion) Henderson of Debec. Predeceased by her husband George, parents Howard and Eldis (Wood) Henderson, sisters Alta and Clarissa (John) Findlater, brother Marlin (Adeline) Henderson, three grandsons, Randy Anderson, Matthew Bustard and Michael Anderson, daughter in law Jean (Kolodropski) Anderson, two son in laws, Charles Roberts and Odbur Kilcollins. A memorial service was held September 9, 2006 at Trinity United Church in Debec with Rev. Beverly Brazier officiating. Music was provided by Mavis'granddaughters Amy Anderson and Kate Boose as pianists and Tracy Anderson as soloist (Laudate Dominum and Farther Along), the church choir and congregation. Grandson Rowan Anderson offered Words of Remembrance. The worship celebrated Mavis' long full life with thanksgiving and honoured and proclaimed her Christian faith. The remains were cremated and interred September 10, 2006 at a private family gathering at the McKenzie Corner United Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to The Carleton Funeral Home Jacksonville. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity United Church, Debec or the McKenzie Corner Cemetery Fund. Mavis will be remembered as an energetic and tireless worker in her home, church and community. Her teaching career was scattered over several years at the Monument, Lindsay, Bedell, Limestone, Richmond Corner and Debec. She belonged to various groups some of which were Trinity United Church, Debec the retired Teachers Association, the Women's Institute, Debec Recreation Council and local Liberal Association. Mavis enjoyed flowers, gardening, food, traveling, quilting, crafts, puzzles, games, card parties, dances, reading, learning and teaching. [The Telegraph-Journal]
