LOWELL -- Maurice L. Dubois, 79, a lifelong resident of Lowell who formerly owned Dubois Oil and Ice Co., died Thursday, Sept. 1, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. He was the husband of Laurette G. (Geoffroy) Dubois, with whom he would have celebrated 48 years of marriage this November.He was born in Lowell, Aug. 1, 1926, son of the late Rosario and Helene (Lacourse) Dubois. He attended Lowell schools and also attended the Divinity School.Prior to retirement, Mr. Dubois was a licensed power-burner technician for St. Hilaire Oil Co., MacDonald Oil Co., Mahoney Oil Co. and Muldoon Oil Co. Previously, he was the owner of Dubois Oil and Ice Co., for a number of years.Mr. Dubois had been a member of St. Louis de France Parish for more than 41 years and presently was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.He enjoyed playing the organ, listening to polka music and watching home movies.Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lucie and Gerry Beauchesne of Austin, Texas, Louise and Wayne Gilchrist of Round Rock, Texas, and Lorraine and Philippe Thibault of Dracut; a son and daughter-in-law, Marcel and Sarah Dubois of Reading; six grandchildren, Danielle Dubois of Manchester, N.H., Bobby Beauchesne and Steven Beauchesne, both of Austin, Texas, Philippe and Benjamin Thibault, both of Dracut and Andrew Rogers of Reading; three sisters, Alice Houde of Lowell, Therese Gilbert of Pembroke, N.H., and Doris Gagne of Sutton; and many nieces and nephews.
