Mrs. Maude Wallace Snipes, 100, of Lancaster, widow of Howard L. Snipes Sr., passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster after a short illness. She was born March 19, 1913 in Chesterfield and was a daughter of the late Jackson Wallace and Victoria Jenkins Wallace. Mrs. Snipes loved her church and was a member of Shiloh A.R.P. Church for over 73 years, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was retired from Springs Industries.Mrs. Snipes is survived by three sons, Howard L. Snipes Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Rock Hill, David D. Snipes and his wife, Pat and Kenneth J. Snipes and his wife, Phyllis, all of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Julie Knecht, Melissa Thurm, Howard L. Snipes III, Ken Snipes Jr. Davis Snipes, Vicky Snipes and Brandy Todd; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twelve brothers and sisters.Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Snipes are 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Shiloh A. R. P. Church, officiated by the Rev. Wayne Dickson, with burial church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the family life center of Shiloh A. R.P.
