Born in Midland City, Alabama, she had resided locally for over 70 years. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Robert D. "Bob" Brooks; four children, Sandra Brooks, Tissa House (John), Bobbie Furney (Cliff) and Jane Chaffin (Lee); four grandsons, Jody Hatcher, Courtney Shannon, Robert Chaffin and Jeremy Chaffin; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Griffin and Linly Hatcher and Bre Shannon. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home until services begin at 2:00 p.m.Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
