EDGEFIELD, S.C.- Entered into rest Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Edgefield Health Care Center, Mrs. Mattie Mae Jones, 74, of Gilgal Rd. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathaniel Langford officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Jones was a native of Edgefield County and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of the home, Solomon Jones; four daughters, Minnie (Charlie) Martin, McCormick, Ruby (Henry) McCurry, Nancy Jones, both of Edgefield and Loretta Lagrone, North Augusta, S.C.; two sons, Willie (Linda) Jones, Jackson, S.C. and Solomon Leon Jones, North Augusta, S.C.; three sisters, Josie Gilchrist, Edgefield, Beatrice (Robert) Martin and Jennie Williams both of McCormick; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
