Mattie Lou Jones, age 55, of Dahlonega died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at 3 p.m. from the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. The Rev. David Hoard will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega. Mrs. Jones had lived in Lumpkin County all of her life. She was of the Baptist faith and was employed at the Pinetree plant in Dahlonega. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. She is survived by her husband, John Jones of Dahlonega; son, Benny Powers of Dahlonega; sisters, Nora Anderson of Dahlonega, Beulah Jones of Gainesville, Fannie Atkins of Fannin County and Nola Lawson of Canton; brother, Frank Grizzle of Fannin County; special friend, Ramone Goodwin of Dahlonega; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
