Hospital EmployeeLAKELAND -- Mrs. Mattie R. Jones of Lakeland died of heart failure Monday (May 8, 2006) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 79.Born in Silver Creek, N.Y., on Dec. 5, 1926, she came to Lakeland from Buffalo, N.Y., nine months ago. She was a hospital employee at E.J. Myers Memorial Hospital in Buffalo. She was a member of First Calvary M.B. Church in Buffalo and attended First Baptist Church in Lakeland.Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons, Gerald Nelson, Ronald Nelson, Vincent Jones, Walter Jones, all of Buffalo; daughters, Lillian Peoples, Buffalo, Della Smith, Judith Nelson, both of Lakeland; 15 grandchildren.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Calvary M.B.
