HomemakerLAKELAND -- Mrs. Mary E. White of Lakeland died of cancer Thursday (Aug. 14, 2003) at Good Shepherd Hospice. She was 85.Born Sept. 18, 1917, in Camden, Tenn., she came here from Atlanta a year ago. She was a homemaker. She belonged to First Methodist Church, where she was a member of Circles 11 and 12.Mrs. White was preceded in death by her first husband, Lt. Col. Alexander R. Helms; and second husband, Clifton C. White. She is survived by her sons, Richard R. Helms, Fort Myers, Donald H. Helms, Atlanta; brother, Edwin McGill, Atlanta; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Heath Funeral Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Chapel. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
