Mary Virginia Smith of Newark passed away on Feb. 10, 2010. Visitation is on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Greater Abyssinian Baptist Church, 88 Lyons Ave., Newark. The Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Frirday at the church. Interment is in Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. Arrangements are by Cotton Funeral Service. Mary was the beloved mother of Thomasine and Kathleen Smith; Gail Smith-Jones and the late Amber McCallum; dear sister of Sara F. Simmons, Laura Griffin, Lina M. Lawson, Robert Manley and the late James Manley; cherished sister-in-law of Mildred and Leon Lawson, Dorothy and Irene Manley, Mary E. Garnett, Weldon Simmons and Joe Griffin; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
