Mary Teresa LeBlanc February 13, 1933 - August 23, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) LeBLANC, M. Teresa - 71, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, August 23, 2004, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (MacGillivary) Hughes. She was a graduate of St. John's Academy, New Glasgow High School, and attended St. Martha's Hospital School of Nursing, graduating and receiving her R.N. in 1955. She practiced nursing at Saint John General Hospital and Sydney City Hospital prior to joining Trans Canada Airlines, now Air Canada. Following her marriage in 1958, she continued her nursing career at St. Rita Hospital in Sydney. She left nursing to raise her family through the 1960's and early 70's. Afterwards, she resumed her nursing career at the Commission on Drug Dependency in Sydney and Dartmouth from which she retired in 1993. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Paul; sons, Bruce, David (Karen), both of Dartmouth; Dr. Greg, Montreal; Richard (Kwan), Bangkok, Thailand; granddaughters, Hannah and Ceilidh; sister, Kathleen (Herb) Muir, New Glasgow; brothers, Edwin (Doris), Florida; James (Ruth), Barrie, Ont.; Lawrence (Patsy), Stellarton; Daniel (Mary), New Glasgow; Ronald (Theresa), Lourdes. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deanne; son, Pierre in infancy; sister, Evelyn; brothers, John, Francis, Anthony and Vincent. Visitation will take place 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, Colby Village, Father David Poirier, SA officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial to take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
