Mary T. Stover, 78, passed away at the McGraw Hospice Center on Nov. 18, 2008. Mary was born in Miner's Mill, Pa., and has lived in St. Augustine since 1955. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church and a past member of the Women's Auxiliary. The true measure of a successful life is not the accumulation of wealth, the acquisition of property, nor the attainment of power, but is summed up in one question, "Will her passing be a distinct loss to her family and friends?" Measured by this standard, Mary Stover was in every way a successful woman. Upon all occasions her love and devotion to her family, friends, and all in need, took first place in her life. She was employed by the St. Johns County School District for 30 years, during which time she worked with high school and elementary school children. Mary loved her colleagues and students at Hartley Elementary School and her passing will be mourned by many. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Stover. She is survived by her sons, Michael E. Stover, Raymond E. Stover, David P. Stover; and one daughter, Michelle S. Burgess. In addition, Mary had seven grandchildren, Michael M. Stover, Raymond D. Stover, Evan A. Burgess, Elizabeth Stover, Morgan Burgess, Linsay Stover, and George P. Stover. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Stover. She is survived by her brother, Michael "Buddy" Ferrari of Roselle Park, N.J.; and her sister, Debbie Adams of Etna, Maine. Prayer will be at 4 p.m. Thursday followed by visitation until 6 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Friday morning. Flowers are declined, donations to Community Hospice of NE Florida are appreciated. Craig Funeral Home-Crematory-Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
