Barrow Co. - Mary Sue Cox, age 79, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at home after an extended illness. A native of Barrow Co., Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late Henry Moses Morris and the late Margaret House Morris. She retired from ìFlowers by Reba: in 1996. For many years she was employed by Sheats Food Market and Masseyís Grocery. She also worked for the Barrow Co. School System as a substitute teacher. She was a member of Whistleville Christian Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Cox, Jr., two brothers, J. T. Morris and Bobby L. Morris. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Thompson; son-in-law, John W. Thompson, Jr. and grandson John W. Thompson III.Surviving relatives include sisters, Annie Hue McMillian, (husband Guy), of Dacula, GA; Ruth and Ruby Morris of Bethlehem, GA, Sybil Casper (husband Donald), of Covington, GA; brothers Henry Almond Morris of Bethlehem, GA, Ned Eugene Morris (wife) Sandra) of Bethlehem, GA.; sister-in-laws, Jean M. Morris of Winder, GA, Betty Jean Morris of Bethlehem, GA, Marguerite Mooney of Winder, GA, Irene Morris of Winder, GA, Alice and Reece Cox of Angier, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lamar and Mary Nell Cox and Robert and Alice Cox.Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10 at 2:00 pm at Smith Memory Chapel. The Rev. Ray F. Fumea and Ray K. Fumea will officiate. Interment will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 at the funeral home.Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
