WINCHESTER, N.H. -- Mary Elizabeth (Lavender) Sanborn, 63, of 1 Dogwood Hill Road, Winchester, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare-Applewood in Winchester.She was born in Richford, Vt., Feb. 8, 1944, daughter of Amelia (Lamb) Blanchette and Francis Lavender. She graduated from St. Michael's School in Brattleboro, Vt., in 1962.She married Bradley C. Sanborn on Oct. 24, 1964. After they were married, they lived in Hinsdale and then moved to Winchester in 1968.For the past 15 years, Mrs. Sanborn worked at Plum Pak Corp. in Winchester. She had previously worked at APW Products Co., and Erving Paper Mill in Brattleboro.She was a member of the ASPCA, and contributed to the PBS fund drives.Mrs. Sanborn was a devoted mother and friend. She loved her cats, crocheting, crossword puzzles, NASCAR and the New England Patriots.Survivors include her children, Glenn A. Sanborn and Shawn A. Sanborn, both of Winchester, and Rebecca M. Sault of Keene; her grandson, Joseph C. Rice of Keene; her step-father, Anthony Blanchette of West Brattleboro; two sisters, Rosalyn Enos and Betty Warden, and a brother, Michael Lavender, all of Brattleboro; a brother, Paul Lavender of Mount Vernon, Maine; a sister, JoAnne Wheeler of Putney, Vt.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.Her father, Francis Lavender was killed in 1944, in World War II. Her mother died in 1987.Spring burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester.There will be no calling hours.The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mrs. Sanborn's memory to the Kingsbury Center for Cancer Care, 580 Court St., Keene, NH 03431, or the Monadnock Humane Society, P.O. Box 678, Route 10, West Swanzey, NH 03469.u
