WESTFORD - Mary S. (Silva) Santos, 97, died yesterday, Jan. 13, at Apple Valley Continuing Center in Ayer. She was the wife of Antonio P. Santos who died Jan. 5, 1994.Born in Lowell on June 19, 1905, a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Rose (Picanso) Silva, she was educated in Lowell schools.Mrs. Santos was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Lowell and the Sacred Heart Church in Groton. She was a life member of the Holy Ghost Society, and was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Florine and Waldo Bakke of Groton, and Phyllis and William Sawyer of San Jose, Calif.; a son John J. Santos of Delray Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Marianne Sharin and her husband, Cliff, of Stow, Rosemary Wells and her husband, Calvin, and Larry Sawyer and his wife, Ingrid, all of Merrimack, N.H., John Bakke and his wife, Kathy, of Townsend, and Paul Sawyer of Rochester, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Candice and Jared Wells, all of Merrimack, N.H., Joel and Max Sharin of Stow, Kristin and Alison Bakke of Townsend, and Anthony Sawyer of Merrimack, N.H.; as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.She was also the mother of the late Claire Santos and sister of the late Daniel, John, Edward and Florence Silva.
