Mary Elizabeth Ligon Rogers, 87, of Greenville, S.C., died June 11, 2009.Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Zimari and Talitha Finley Ligon.Mary retired as an administrator for Union Carbide and was a member of the Senior Action Center at Berea Heights Baptist Church.She is survived by her granddaughter, Barbara Rogers Ballew of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Joyce Boyd and her husband, Bill, of Piedmont, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Burns and Cameron Etheredge; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her son, Robert L. Rogers, Jr.; two sisters, Eleanor Clardy and Catherine Cecil; and three brothers, John Henry Ligon, Thomas Ligon, and William "Bill" Ligon.A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Woodlawn Funeral Home with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
