MARY ROGERS SATELLITE BEACH Mary Elizabeth Rogers passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008, at her home overlooking the ocean in Satel lite Beach, FL. She was sur rounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Mary Elizabeth Newton Rogers was born to Edith Phipps and Jesse Newton on August 11, 1936 in Buckholts, Texas and graduated from Brazosport High School in Free port, Texas. She had two older sisters who preceded her in death: Helen Lorrance Gresak and Ola Fay Odom, both of Texas. She married Richard Rogers and moved to Satellite Beach in 1962 and is survived by Richard and his sister, Vesta Grace Hutchins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mary spent many years work ing for the City of Satellite Beach and retired as the City Clerk. She was instrumental in the founding of the Satellite Beach United Methodist Church in Satellite Beach. She was involved in many committees and groups and served the church in many positions. Her latest activity was with the Stephens Ministry Program. Mary loved all sports and was also involved for over 20 years with the Satellite Beach Little League and other sports. She loved to play tennis and watch all sports. She also loved the ocean and spent many happy moments on her balcony enjoy ing friends, family, and prayer. She is survived by her hus band, Richard C. Rogers; her children, Jo Beth and Daryl Wigington of Keller, Texas, Ray Featherhoff of Satellite Beach, Florida, and Steve and Kathy Rogers of West Melbourne. Her grandchildren are, Brandi Nicole Rogers of Melbourne, Florida, Sam Harley Wigington of Keller, Texas, Blake Clinton Rogers of Satellite Beach, Florida, and Jill Ray Wigington of Keller, Texas. She has one great-grandchild, Skylar Elaine Hume of Mel bourne, Florida. Mary had friends, nieces, and nephews too numerous to count. She brought unconditional love and joy to all in her path. She was truly the wind beneath our wings. Visitation will be held at Beach Funeral Home in Indian Harbour Beach, FL from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008. Services will be held at Satellite Beach United Method ist Church at 2 p.m. on Wednes day, April 30th. Interment will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens on US Hwy. 1 in Rock ledge following the service. A reception and dinner will be held at the Satellite Beach United Methodist Church in the Fellow ship Hall following the inter ment. Please join us as we celebrate the joy she brought to all of us.
