She was a native of RoEllen, TN, but lived most of her life in Murfreesboro. She retired as a realtor in 1992 from Snow & Wall Realtors, and with her husband owned and operated Al Sullivan's Restaurant from 1949 to 1968. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, S.H. and Bessie Seay Cook Lane; husband, Alva Louis Sullivan; two brothers; four sisters. She is survived by her sons, Norman Cook Sullivan and Lyman Louis Sullivan (Diane) both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Norman Louis Sullivan (Donna) of Greensboro, NC, Timothy Sullivan (Ellen) of Ocala, FL, Shea Sullivan (Irma) of Stockbridge, GA, Brian Sullivan (Julie) of Murfreesboro, Chris Sullivan (Leslie) of Murfreesboro and Rachel Sullivan Thomas (Jeremy) of Louisville, KY; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nephews and nieces. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother and was very devoted to her family. In the past few years, most of her time was spent with family. She thoroughly enjoyed looking through keepsakes and photos of her loved ones. She had many interesting, entertaining stories from her past which provided much laughter to her family and others. Louise Brewer was her primary caregiver and friend over the past three months. Our family has been blessed by her caring devotion to Mary, and to her, we will forever be grateful. Mary will be greatly missed, but we are comforted knowing she is in the presence of the Lord.A chapel service will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Wayne Belt and Barry Mershon officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mark's Methodist Church Building Fund.Visitation with the family will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church Street, Murfreesboro, TN, 615-893-2422jenningsandayers.com
