PhlebotomistLAKELAND -- Mrs. Mary M. Purvis of Lakeland died of a heart attack Wednesday (Dec. 3, 2003) at home. She was 60.Born in Eaton Rapids, Mich., on April 13, 1943, she came to Lakeland from Staten Island, N.Y., 21 years ago. She was a registered phlebotomist for Bond Clinic and many local hospitals. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Purvis. She is survived by her sons, George Randall Purvis, Tampa, Chris Purvis, Charles Purvis, both of Lakeland, Eric Purvis, Vero Beach; mother, Mary Kipp, Staton Island; sisters, Barbara VanDusky, Staton Island, Karen Thomas, New York, Janet Zilles, Brandon; 10 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lakeland Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Resurrection Catholic Church.
