Funeral for Mary Paul Dean Waldrop, 82, of Hartselle will be Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Waldrop, who died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Hartselle Medical Center, was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Cullman County to John E. Dean and Eva E. Barnett Dean. She retired from Farmers Home Administration as an administrative clerk. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle where she was active in the senior adult ministry. She was a beloved mother, sister and grandmother. Her husband, Tom G. Waldrop, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, George R. Waldrop and his wife, Patricia, of Prattville and Timothy P. Waldrop of Hartselle; one daughter, Judith Woodcock and her husband, Dearl, of Greenwood, Miss.; one brother, John Donald Dean and his wife, Loretta, of Gulf Shores; two sisters, Mabel Pfleger of Birmingham and Betty Hargrove and her husband, Charles, of Trussville; two grandchildren, Wade Waldrop and his wife Kimberly, of Chelsea and Laura Waldrop of Birmingham; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and in-laws. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hartselle Building Fund, Alabama Baptist Children’s Village or to the charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be friends and relatives.
