NORTHPORT Mary Opal Stephens, age 87, of Northport, died July 17, 2007, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 6 p.m. Friday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be immediately following the service with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Perry Stephens, Sr., and brothers, John, Charles, Joe, and James Sanders.Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie S. McCracken (Johnny McCracken) of Ralph; son, Claude Perry Stephens, Jr. of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Lee McCracken (Susanne), Mary Margaret McCracken and Johnna McCracken of Tuscaloosa; and great grandchild, Benjamin McCracken.Mrs. Stephens was a lifelong member of Eutaw Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She was a Proverbs 31 woman!In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
