Mary Murphy, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on October 23, 2006. She was 78. Mrs. Murphy was born on January 3, 1928 in Co. Longford Ireland to the late Hugh and Sarah (Bohan) McLaughlin. She emigrated from Ireland in 1947 and came to NYC where she met her future husband Michael. They were married in 1956. He died in 1988. She was a Salesperson for The Curtain Shop in New Rochelle for over 20 years. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She is survived by three sons, Michael and his wife Carol of GA., Thomas and his wife Sarah of MN, and Dennis Murphy of New Rochelle; a sister Kate Ann Mulleady of Ireland, and a brother Patrick McLaughlin of England. She was predeceased by a daughter Ann Marie. Visiting will be Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday 9:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. www.LloydMaxcxy.com
