Mary Harris Morrell, beloved mother of three, died March 30, 2014 in Salem, MA. She was 82 years of age. She had lived in Marblehead for 53 years. She was the daughter of the late Olive Ripley Doe Harris and Morris Finlay Clifton Harris. Born in Boston, she grew up in Scarsdale, NY, graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in psychology, and from Harvard University with a master's degree in education. She taught third grade in Scarsdale, NY and in Manchester, MA, before raising her family. She also tutored and taught at Tower School in Marblehead for several years. Later, she served as office manager for two North Shore ophthalmology practices. She was a longtime congregant of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and volunteered there for many years. She was a former member of Corinthian Yacht Club and the Swampscott Beach Club. She leaves three daughters; Sarah Morrell, of Providence, RI; Jane Morrell Donnelly and her husband, Tim, of Rockport, MA; and Carolyn Morrell Raisner and her husband, Bruce, of Marblehead; and three grandchildren; Laura Donnelly, Olivia Raisner and Andrew Raisner. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on April 3, 2014 at 10AM and private burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, MA. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the St. Andrew's Community Outreach Committee, 135 Lafayette St., Marblehead, MA 01945. Arrangements by the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead.
