Mary Ann Passed away following an illness at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the age of 80. Mary Ann had previously resided at Elcor Health Services and Bangor, PA. Born on November 12, 1922, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Ann Lonick Mitchell. She graduated from St. John's University and devoted her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. During WWII, Mary Ann served in the United States as a 2nd Lt. Army Nurse. Her many interests included gardening, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. Surviving are her nieces, Patti Mitchell of Horseheads, Sue and Boyd Lamberson of Horseheads, Nancy and Mike Reynolds of Erin; great-nieces, Lisa and Becky Reynolds; and a sister-in-law, Joan Mitchell. Mary Ann was predeceased by her sister, Frances Becker; and her brother, John Mitchell. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 10 a.m. for a memorial service honoring her life with the Reverend Christopher E. Linsler officiating. In honoring her wishes, Mary Ann was cremated at the Northern Bradford Crematory. Memorial donations may be directed to the Chemung County SPCA in her memory.
