Mary Mitchellof Leominster; 93 LEOMINSTER -- Mary (Quarella) Mitchell, 93 years old, of Leominster, died Thursday, February 20, 2014, in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital.She is survived by two daughters, Monica M. Scanlon and her husband, Michael of Acton, and Patricia E. Freiss and her husband, Richard of Leominster; son, James L. Mitchell and his wife, Elise Legere of West Linn, OR; two brothers, Alphonse Quarella of Springfield and John Quarella of Gardner; sister, Anna Dupuis of Leominster; and five grandchildren, Christopher Freiss, Sean Scanlon, Laura Mitchell, Stephen Scanlon, and Cameron Mitchell.She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence F. Mitchell in 2010.Mary was born March 12, 1920, in Fitchburg, daughter of Alfonso and Paolina (Parolin) Quarella, and had lived in Leominster since 1946. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1938, and had been a bookkeeper at the former Service Electric in Fitchburg. Mary was a member of St. Leo's Church in Leominster.MITCHELL -- A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 11 am in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 1, from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
