She was born November 18, 1933, in Kokomo, Ind., to George and Mary (Phipps) Poppas. Her loving and dedicated husband of 52 years, Robert F. MIller, survives. She graduated from Kokomo High School, Kokomo, Ind., in 1951 and married Bob on June 8, 1952. She and Bob were members of the United Methodist Church in Greentown, Ind., and were active volunteers during their children's young lives, in the Eastern School System in Greentown. She and Bob moved to Zephyrhills in August, 2003, to thoroughly enjoy their much-deserved retirement. She was an excellent bowler, loved to play bridge, never met a stranger and was loved by so many. Along with her husband, she is survived by a son and daughte r-in-law, Michael and Ellen Miller, Kokomo; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marcia Bowron, Spring, Texas, Michelle and Jeff Pope, Arvada, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Joshua Bowron of Spring, Texas and Christine and Thomas Pope, Arvada, Colo.; three brothers, George Poppas, El Paso, Texas, John Poppas, Piedmont, Calif., and Tom Poppas, Kokomo; eight sisters, Anna Kleiber, Grace Kingseed, Phoebe Carter, all of Kokomo, Dorothy Mast, San Diego, Calif., Freda Johnson, Los Gatos, Calif., Wilhelmine Warren, St. Petersburg, Bea Nielsen, San Antonio, Texas and Vanetta Beckman, Moneta, Va.; numerous brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Her mother, father, and a brother, Edward Poppas, preceded her in death. Funeral services will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2004, (today) at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Craig Ford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name, to a cancer fund of your choice. For the last 15 months, she has defied all odds and has been an inspiration to us all. She will be missed so very much, but is in the arms of God and at peace now.
