PITMANMary Mertis, of Quincy, July 24, 2006, after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of the late Annie Louise Freeman Pitman and Arthur Gould Pitman. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rozzie V. Pitman of Augusta, SC, nieces, Deborah Barinowski of Lilburn, GA and Jennifer Van Horn of Atlanta, GA and a nephew Arthur V. Pitman of Williamsburg, VA. Also 2 dear cousins Jean Coleran of Hingham and Barbara E. Walsh of Weymouth. Ms. Pit man was a graduate of North Quincy High School and Wheelock College. She was a premier Kindergarten Teacher for over 40 years at Pierce Elementary School in Mil ton. After receiving Jesus Christ as her Savior in the early 40s, she became a lifelong member of Park Street Church in Boston. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the Board of Missions and served a term as President of the Fellow ship group. In 1991 she began writing to Park Street Churchs 90 missionaries three times a year for eight years. In later years she attended the Wollaston Church of the Nazarene. A Memorial Service will be held at South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main St., Hingham, MA on Saturday, September 30 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
