Mary McSheffrey Bernierof MiddletownMary McSheffrey Bernier, 81, of 202 Delmont Drive, Middletown, formerly of Pittsburgh, departed this life on Saturday, August 27, 2005, in the Middletown Home, Lower Swatara Township. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Nora Sullivan McSheffrey. Mrs. Bernier was a retired nurse at St. Frances's Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Penn Hills, Pa., where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of its Ladies of Charity. She is survived by a daughter, Karen B. Herpak, Middletown; two sons, William E. Bernier, Endwell, N.Y., and George M. Bernier, Columbia, Md.; brother, William E. McSheffrey, Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Helen Gruner, Chesterfield, Mo., and Anna Bourquard, Housantonic, Mass.; also nine grandchildren.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown, with the Rev. Louis P. Ogden as celebrant. Viewing will be from 7-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown, with the recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m.
