Mary Louise Orr, age 89, of Spruce Lodge, 643 West Gore Street, Stratford passed away at her residence on Tuesday, September 16, 2003. Born in Collingwood, she was the daughter of the late Archibald McCall and the former Ethel Bowie. Mary graduated from the Toronto Normal School and taught at Collingwood and Kirkland Lake. She and her husband James and family lived in Northern mining communities and then in Ottawa and Port Hope before moving to Stratford in 1987. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Stratford. Beloved wife of James (Jim) Orr who predeceased her on January 19, 1994. Dear mother of Geoffrey Orr of Thunder Bay, Edward Orr and wife Anne of Stratford and Helen Orr of Ashland, Oregon. Dear grandmother of David Orr of New York, NY, Christopher Orr of Seoul, South Korea and Elizabeth Orr of Guelph. Also survived by sisters-in-law Sarah (Sadie) McCall of Kitchener and June Orr of Perth, ON and nieces and nephews and their families. She was the last surviving member of her imêmediate family having been predeceased by sisters Margaret Inkster and Florence McCall and brothers Peter Muir McCall and Thomas McCall. Also predeceased by brothers-in-law Laurence Inkster and William Orr and sisters-in-law Jean McCall, Jessie Orr and Edna Orr. Relatives and friends will be received at Knox Presbyterian Church, 142 Ontario Street, Stratford on Monday, September 22, 2003 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Terry Hastings will officiate. Interment will be in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford.
