MURPHY, MARY MARGARET, 81, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Little Sisters of the Poor. She was a retired executive secretary for the Seelbach Hotel, and had worked for Derby Cap and Stewarts. She was a member of the Holy Family Association, was a devoted Catholic and had attended St. Pius X, St. Barnabas, and St. Margaret Mary Churches. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.J. Murphy Sr. and Mary Hengemehle Murphy; two brothers, John J. Murphy Jr. and Charles C. Murphy. She is survived by a sister, Rose Marie Messmer; a niece, Cheryl M. Hay (Larry) and other nieces and nephews; cousins, Rev. Gerald Timmel, Bertha Mae Timmel, Mary Ann Fitzgerald and Paula Berger both of California; good friend, Cinda Richman; and several great-nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Little Sisters of the Poor, 15 Audubon Plaza Drive, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Little Sisters from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Little Sisters. Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road is handling the arrangements. The family would like to thank all the many sisters and caregivers at Little Sisters for the wonderful care, support and love given to Mary Margaret during her stay there.
