MORRISON, Mary Eleanor (Dunphy) The death of Mary Eleanor Morrison (Dunphy) occurred unexpectedly on Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late William and Ann Truffen. She attended Saint John High School and studied dancing in Saint John and New York and was a graduate of the Hollywood Model School. She first worked as a High Fashion Model in New York and later was employed for several years as a buyer of women's fashions at both Calps and Scovils in Saint John, N.B. In 1968 she moved to Edmonton, AB where she was an agent for a moving company and later was a Corporate Travel Sales Representative. Mary was an avid volunteer and devoted much time to the Girl Guides where she was appointed a Commissioner in Edmonton. She was a member of the Zonta Club and volunteered for a local Political Party. She is survived by her son, Jim (Pam) Ward of Saint John, N.B. and her daughter, Julianna (Devin) Moffat of Red Deer, AB; four grandchildren, Andrew and Stephan Ward, Dallin and Jalaina Moffat; brother, William (Barb) Truffen of Toronto, Ontario; sister, Katrina (Robert) DeWitt of Fredericton, N.B.; several nephews and a niece. Predeceased by her sister, Wilhamena Higgins of Toronto, Ontario; her first husband, Lester Ward; second husband, Ronald Dunphy. Mary Eleanor Morrison with her gregarious and loving personality, will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard & McBride Westlawn Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, AB. Interment will follow at a later date in Saint John, N.B. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made in memory of Mary to Edmonton Women's Shelter Ltd.
