NISKAYUNA Mary M. Harrington, 101, of Niskayuna and formerly of Forest Drive, Colonie, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2003. She was born in Sidney, N.Y. and was a Colonie resident since 1950. Mary worked for the N.Y.S. Health Department for many years before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Clare's Church and a member of the H.B. Kuhn Senior Citizens. Mrs. Harrington was an avid bridge player who belonged to several bridge groups. She enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts Mary was the wife of the late John C. Harrington. She is the cherished mother of Joan (Jay) Petro and her husband, Donald of Niskayuna and the late John M. Harrington. She is the mother-in-law of Jane Harrington of Clifton Park; adoring grandmother of Alec Petro and his wife, Leah of Duxbury, Mass., Matthew Petro and his wife, Amy of Rexford, Gregory Harrington of Seattle, Wash. and Laura Harrington of Boston, Mass. She was the most enthusiastic great-grandmother of Christian, Grace and Ben Petro of Duxbury, Mass. and Sara and Hanna Petro of Rexford. Also surviving are three nieces and three nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 9:00 at St. Clare's Church in Colonie. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memory's Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mary's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place., Memphis, TN 38105. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her personal care aides who gave so much of themselves for her care and comfort.
