Mary Louise Tarlton Vaughn SCARBOROUGH -- On Oct. 29, 2009, Mary Louise Tarlton Vaughn slipped into eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by family members at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Mary was born on May 1, 1936, in Iredell County, N.C. to Rachel J. and James D. Rupard. Being a wonderful, caring person to all she came in contact with, was a ward clerk at Mercy Hospital for several years. On Oct. 9, 1993, she married her soul mate Francis Vaughn. They celebrated their 16th anniversary at the Barron Center in Portland. Mary was predeceased by both of her parents. Surviving, besides her husband, are her son Tommy and his wife Mona of Saco; and her brother James Rupard and his wife Annie May and their family. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and their families; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews and several cousins in North Carolina. A celebration of life will be held at the Cape Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at 11 am. Pastor Jonathan Twitchell will be officiating.
