WATERS - Mary Louise died peacefully at home on January 15, 2014. She was born in Iowa in 1923, she attended the Missouri School of Journalism and earned a Master's Degree in Journalism at Columbia University in New York. In the very early days of television, she toured post-war Russia with a distinguished group from American Women in Radio and Television. She later worked in development in the American Nurses Association and served for many years as Treasurer of the North Riding Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary Louise was active in St. Stephen's Church in Port Washington, New York. Mary Louise was predeceased by her husband, Sumner Horton Waters, who was with Kidder Peabody and was a trophy winning member of the North Hempstead Country Club. She was lovingly attended for many years by her friend Allan Strockbine and her nurses. There will be a visitation at Austin F. Knowles, Inc. Funeral Home, 128 Main St., Port Washington Wednesday 10-10:3 AM. A chapel service will follow at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
