CANEADEA - Mary Louise Rauhe, 87, of 8845 Lake Rd., passed away Monday (June 23, 2014) at The Episcopal Church Home in Rochester following a brief illness. Born April 17, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of Clinton and Isabel Dower Rauhe. Mary grew up in Fillmore and was a graduate of Fillmore Central School, class of 1945. After graduating from high school, she worked at IBM, designing computers used in NASA's program. In 1984, Mary retired from IBM at her home at Rushford Lake, she built a greenhouse, planted an orchard and enjoyed life helping things grow. She loved traveling, baseball, walking with her dog and enjoying family and friends.Mary was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Fillmore and a past member of the Zonta Club of Binghamton.Surviving are a brother, James (Joyce) Rauhe of New Holland, Pa.; 2 sisters, Betty (Joseph) Lindsay of Rochester, Sylvia (Robert) Hober of Martenez, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.She predeceased by a brother, Leland Rauhe; a sister, Dorothy Burton; and best friend, Roy Olmstead.Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast, Saturday (June 28, 2014) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at which time prayers will be recited. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick's church in Fillmore in St. Patrick's Church at noon. The Rev. Dennis Mancuso, Pastor, will be celebrant and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
