McLAUGHLIN Mary Louise (Corrigan) McLaughlin, age 88, of West Hartford, died on Thursday, November 24, 2005, at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Dr. Henry J. and Martha (Cole) Corrigan. She received her AB degree, Phi Beta Kappa, Final Honors form Pembroke College in Brown University, and a master of library science from Simmons College. She worked as a children0s librarian in the Providence Library System and was a volunteer in World War II. She and her family moved to Connecticut in 1959. She was a librarian at Sedgwick Junior High School in West Hartford and at Roosevelt Junior High School in New Britain. After her retirement, she was a librarian at the West Hartford Library. She had been a member of the West Hartford Dames, president of its book club, and a member of St. Helena Women0s Guild. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eugene F. McLaughlin Sr.; a son, Eugene Jr. of Fairfield; two daughters, Joan of Hingham, Mass. and Teresa of Arlington, Va.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, at 9 a.m. from the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main Street, West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45 a.m. in the The Church of St. Helena, West Hartford. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Bristol Cemetery, Bristol, R.I. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
