MOUNTAIN REST, SC-- Mary Louise Henry Alexander, 95, wife of the late Roy Edward Alexander, of 360 Breezy Bluff Drive, Mountain Rest, SC, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at her residence.A native of Gainesville, GA, Mrs. Alexander was the daughter of the late William Patton and Lassie Alman Conley Henry. She was a homemaker and had previously worked as an office administrator, social worker and teacher. Mrs. Alexander was among the first women to graduate from the University of Georgia. She also served as a church pianist, organist and choir member. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Double Springs United Methodist Church.Mrs. Alexander is survived by a son, Douglas Eric Alexanderof Raleigh, NC; daughters,Lina Nanette Alexander ofMountain Rest, SC, Laura Sharon Alexander Smith of West Union, SC; a brother, Mack Edgar Henryof Mountain Rest, SC.Mrs. Alexander is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Alexander was predeceased by a brother, William Conley Henry.Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2006, from West View Cemetery, Walhalla, SC.Following the service, the family will receive friends at Double Springs United Methodist Church, Mountain Rest, SC.Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Double Springs United Methodist Church, c/o Sue Queen, 6556 Highlands Highway, Mountain Rest, SC 29664.The family is at the home of Sharon Smith, 334 Dutch Fork Road, West Union, SC.Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.davenportfuneralhome.com.Davenport Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Paid Funeral Notice
