-> Mary Lou Williams Purvis, 78, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in Memorial Health University Medical Center. The Bulloch county native and longtime resident of Savannah was a 2nd grade teacher at Hancock Day School and retired from Candler Hospital in 1991 after having worked there for more than 12 years. She then did volunteer work at Candler until her death and was a member and past Council member at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by husband, Joseph H. Purvis, Savannah; son, Joseph H. Purvis, Jr. and his wife, Susie, Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Mrs. Pam Macchio and her husband, Mike, Black Creek; sister, Mrs. Marion Swinford, Savannah; grandsons, Joseph Keith Purvis and his wife, Jennifer, Twin Falls, ID and Kevin Purvis, Hilton Head Island, SC; granddaughters, Mrs. Sheri Biller and her husband, Greg, Dillsburg, PA; Mrs. Robyn Powers and her husband Mike, Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. Mary Waterman and her husband, Josep h, Ft. Stewart, GA, great grandchildren, Christian Miller, Heaven Boelens, Hayden Olinger, Joseph K. Purvis, Jr., Mylan Powers and Jesse Purvis. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2004 in Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, April 3, 2004 in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Donald Rieder officiating. Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
