Mary Lou (Kahms) McKeon, 85, widow of Lawrence "Buddy" McKeon, of Berlin, passed into eternal life on Sept. 16, 2012. Mary Lou was born March 10, 1927 the daughter of Edward and Mary (Pollard) Kahms. She lived in East Berlin and Berlin all her life. Mary Lou had worked at the Newington Veterans Hospital and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed knitting and baking, especially for her great-grand nieces and nephews. For over 40 years Mary Lou and Buddy loved spending winters in Treasure Island, Florida with friends. Mrs. McKeon is survived by her only daughter, Georgann McKeon Leibe and her partner Thomas Mauri of Meriden. She is also survived by her niece and goddaughter Sharon (Fournier) Phaneuf; her brother-in-law Laurent Fournier and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor (Kahms) Fournier.Services were held Sept. 19, 2012 from Berlin Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin. Burial was at West Lane Cemetery, Kensington.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 48 Cottage Street, East Berlin, CT.
