CLARKSVILLE - Johnson, Mary Lou, 80, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Hosparus of Louisville, after a heroic battle with cancer. Born on December 3, 1931, she was a graduate of Radford College and taught History at Marion High School in Virginia. After she married, she moved to Clarksville, IN where she raised two sons, actively volunteered in local politics, and became a lifelong fan of University of Louisville and Indiana University Basketball. Later in life, she joined her husband, a long-haul truck driver, on road trips that took them all over the United States. She loved to read and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Charles (Mac) Johnson Jr. of Clarksville; two sons, Charles (Mackie) Johnson III (Connie) of Mooresville, NC , John Johnson(Karen) of Carmel, IN; a sister, Barbara Comer (Ed); a brother, David Hoge; five grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Kyle, Tim, Kevin Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Chapman Funeral Home, Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, and noon - 2 p.m. on Monday.
