Mary Lee Mary passed from this life at 11:15 a.m., December 18, 2008, in Missouri Veterans Home, Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She was born in Zinc, Arkansas January 11, 1916. Mary made her home in Nixa, Missouri , after the passing of her husband until she moved to the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri in 2002. Mary is survived by one sister Lois E. Hopper of Ontario, California, a brother and his wife Luther and Mildred Hilliard of Billings Missouri, four nieces and one nephew, several great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews, great, great, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley M. Lee; her parents Luther E. and Virgie Hilliard; a brother Gerald Hilliard; and a nephew Gerald Ray Hilliard. Mary served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II with the Army Air Force in the South Pacific. She was an honorary member of the Women's Auxiliary Corp of the VFW Post 5686 in Billings, Mo. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she dedicated many hours to genealogy research. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2008. Final resting place will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah beside her husband, with grave side services and Military Rites. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Mo. or Community Hospice in Springfield, Mo. The family would like to say a Big Thank You to the dedicated people at the Missouri Veterans Home and Community Hospice of Springfield for the excellent care and kindness given Mary during her long illness.
