Mary Lee Pitts, 74, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at a local nursing facility. Mrs. Pitts was a lifelong resident of Bay County, Fla. She was a dietary manager for a number of years in Bay County. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy W. Pitts of Panama City, Fla.; two sons, Billie Pitts of Panama City and Marty Pitts (Crystal) of Bayou George, Fla.; two daughters, Donna Rosalis of Panama City and Jennifer Leach of Bayou George; seven grandchildren, Wayne, Daphne, Amanda, Shane, Tiffany, Chad and Harley; and a number of great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Thelma Speigner. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Springfield Community Church with Bro. Eddie Pitts and the Rev. Donnie Jackson officiating. Prior to services, the family will receive friends starting at 1 p.m. at the church. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2009, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice or the Humane Society of Bay County.
