Mary Koning-Miller, 85, of Kalamazoo, Mich. formerly of Bradenton, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, 2014. She was born on June 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (DeBock) Bambacht. Mary had a heart and spirit that were filled with love, kindness and generosity. She was a talented woman who was gifted in many ways. She loved music and was an accomplished organist. She was an excellent cook who made award winning pies! She was a faithful follower of the Lord and was a member of Haven Reformed Church while living in Kalamazoo, and later the Good Shepard Church and The First Church of the Nazarene, in Bradenton, FL. Mary was a hard worker who served as a cafeteria manager for the Kalamazoo Public Schools. Mary also knew the value of family and was always there when needed. On June 24, 1948 she married John Koning who preceded her in passing on December 26, 1970. On July 8, 1978, she married George Miller and extended her family to include two daughters, Diane Vickery, and Janice (Duane) Dentler, and their families. George passed on February 3, 2002. She was also preceded in passing by a daughter, Barbara Koning. Mary leaves to cherish her memory 2 daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Rabb, Janna (Doug) Loher; 4 grand-children, Todd Bloomfield, James (Danielle) Loher, Teresa (Michael) Clark and Robert (Ashley) Loher; 5 great grandchildren, Bradley, Reagan, MacKenzie, Mike and Jonathan. She also had a special stepbrother and sister, Max Luchies and Laura VanderZee. A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Haven Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, MI, with Rev. Cecil Martens officiating.
