HARTLEY Mary Kathryn (Kay) Hartley, passed away September 30, 2004. Kay was born in Lake City, Florida and was proud to call Jacksonville her home. She was an avid golfer and a member of Selva Marina Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. “ Billy” Hartley in 1972 and mother, Kathryn Ridley in 1998. Kay is survived by her daughter, Billie Kay Hartley of Atlantic Beach, grandson, John William Bass of Atlantic Beach, cousin, June Eberling of Jacksonville, cousin, Austin Peterson of Birmingham, AL and cousin, Wayne A. Stone of Sonoma, CA. Prior to retirement, Kay served as the Medical Librarian of Baptist Medical Center for 25 years, as well as participated in many charitable functions. She also participated in continuing education at the University of Florida. Kay loved life, but most of all, she loved her family and friends. For that, she will never be forgotten. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 41 15 Hendricks Ave. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
