She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Mary retired from MTMC as a switchboard operator. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Malone; her parents, Willie Lee and Hattie Roberta McCarty; her daughter, Teresa Espy; and brother, Jessie Jakes. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Randy) Harrell and Brenda Malone of Murfreesboro; brothers, Willie Jakes, Dorris Jakes, and Joe Jakes; sister, Helen Lane; and grandchildren, Katherine Knox, Taryn Barnes, Jamie Butler, Lorenzo Espy and David Espy; and one great-grandchildren.Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home. A chapel service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at Jennings & Ayers with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery with friends and family serving as active Pallbearers.
