Sister Mary Kelly Malone was born Aug. 17, 1923, to the late Rev. James and Nettie Kelly in Trinity, Ala. She departed this life at 10:20 p.m. March 30, 2009, at home with family members at her bedside.Mrs. Malone was a faithful member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained until her health failed.To cherish her caring and loving memory are daughters, Gloria (Jean) Goodloe, Cherokee, Ala., and Rosemary (Carl) Webb, Paducah, Ky.; three sons, the Rev. Amons J. (Doris) Malone, Rahway, N.J., Robert Malone, Madison, Tenn., and Michael (Shawanna) Malone, Collierville, Tenn.,; one son-in-law, Lamos Perkins, Tuscumbia, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one niece; two nephews; one special nephew, Charles Miller; sister-in-law, Mozelle Kelly, Cleveland, Ohio; cousins and friends.The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Cherokee, Ala., with the Rev. Ronald Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, Ala.The body will be placed in the church at noon.Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
