Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church for Mary Joyce Flenoir Williams, 66, Gadsden, who died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008. Elijah Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Hill. Watson and Sons Funeral Home directing.Mary worked at Spring Valley and Tyson's Foods as a quality controller for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, where she rendered dedicated services for more than half a century. She served as secretary of the Sunday School, member of the Nurse's Guild, a matron and a member of the Luvada Flenoir Circle. She was a member of the Northside Community Club, the Club Harambee' and the Australia Chapter No. 303 Order of Eastern Star.Mary will be remembered for her prevailing faith and enduring courage. She was full of humor, wit and had a determination for life. She was able to overcome the adversities of life with a smile. Mary's understanding to those in need was priceless. Her patience and courage were exemplary to all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Luvada Flenoir; brother, Frank Flenoir Jr.; and a stepdaughter, Amy Pilozo.Surviving relatives left to cherish her lovable memory are her loving and devoted husband of 31 years, Lonnie Williams; her two daughters, Renata Prater and Renita Prater (Patrick) Jones; sister, Juanita Flenoir Smith; brother, Johnny Flenoir; grandchildren, Patrice, Doretha and Alexandria Jones, Ian Prater, Malrin Spears and Shiquita Singleton; aunts, Lucille Horns and Idella Thornton; uncle, John Alexander; sister-in-law, Bernice Mack; godparents, Elwood and Minnie Kimball and Jimmy Lee Davis; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many dear friends.Special thanks to Dr. Kenny Smith and staff, doctors and nurses at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, nurses of old CCU and new MICU, 9 West and 9 South and to all of the many friends who rendered service to Mary.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
